Dear Harvard Alumni, Students, and Parents,

Greetings from the center of the visible universe, the land of milk and honey- New Jersey. It is my honor to lead the Club this year. It is my sincere hope that we can get many of you involved in Club activities over the next year.

Why get involved? There are several reasons. First, the Club sponsors a full calendar of activities throughout the year. From Harvard-related sporting activities in the fall to our annual sojourn to the Hasty Pudding in New York in late winter to our annual dinner in the spring, we do our best to maintain a steady stream of events.

Among the key events held over the last year were:

• Shakespeare at the NJ Shakespeare Theatre

• Programs on hawks and owls at the Raptor Trust

• A night hike in the Great Swamp

• The Annual Musicale featuring Harvard Undergrads

Second, we provide vital support to the University’s admissions program. Every year we coordinate with the Admissions Office to make sure that every applicant in northern New Jersey gets an alumni interview. Participants find this a uniquely rewarding way to serve the College.

Third, we actively support undergraduate education. The Harvard Club of New Jersey makes regular donations to the scholarship fund. In addition, this year we sponsored two internships, both related to environmental stewardships
